HGSE Financial Aid has limited office hours that can be found on our main website.  We encourage students and applicants to e-mail our office with questions and we will respond as quickly as possible.  When e-mailing us please state your questions briefly and directly so we may expedite our response.  E-mail is the most secure, confidential, and efficient way to respond to inquiries at this time, and you can find answers to many commonly asked questions on the "Publications and Forms" page of this site after logging in.

HGSE Shield  Welcome newly admitted applicants!  Remember to check the "Documents & Requirements" page after logging in, and complete any requirement that has not been received.  We expect to provide applicants with a financial aid offer in late March to early April.


HGSE Shield  Spring semester student account refunds will be available in late January.  If your total payments, including financial aid, exceeds your semester charges you may receive a refund- check your student account to determine if you expect a credit on your account.  If you have a U.S. bank account we highly recommend enrolling in direct deposit to quickly and securely receive a refund.

Log In Instructions & Assistance

First Time Users:

You must have a financial aid record already established at HGSE to use this system.  Your financial aid record is created after you complete and submit a HGSE Admission Application. Once this is done you will receive instructions on how to access this system, including your Portal ID.  First time users can set up a Portal PIN here and full instructions for setting up access can be found here.

To login to the Portal after you have activated access, enter your HGSE Student Aid Portal ID and your HGSE Student Aid Portal PIN. We do not recommend saving (or using saved) login information in your web browser for this system.

**Remember, your Portal ID and PIN are unique to this system and are not the same as for other HGSE and Harvard systems.**

**Your account will be locked after 3 unsuccessful login attempts- please use the "Forgot Your PIN?" link in the LOG IN box to reset your PIN before locking your account!**
